Guillermo is a writer, director, scorer, native of Havana Cuba who holds an MS from Columbia University and is a part time faculty at Cal State Dominguez Hills. His writer, director, music score credits include Pueblo and La Notica, He has worked as an actor with roles in the film Blow, and Ocean Man, as well as television credits on Six Feet Under, and The Shield. He is the principal cinematographer and editor for the majority of the projects produced by YeYe Productions. Guillermo comes to the world of film and video production with an extensive background as a musical director, pianist, and composer with several award winning CD’s and musical credits in Robert Duval’s Assassination Tango, as well as Andy Garcia’s Latin American Bacardi Campaign. In addition he has performed and lectured throughout the United States Canada and Europe. He has received two commissioned composition awards from the Rockefeller Foundation, the Berkeley Symphony as well as master artist awards from the California Arts Council. Guillermo was the musical director/pianist/composer for the internationally renowned Afro Cuban Ensemble Conjunto Cespedes. This ensemble released four CD’s (Guira Con Son, Una Sola Casa, Vivito y Coleando and Flores) and toured extensively internationally. Currently, Guillermo is the musical director/pianist/composer for the Afro Cuban Ensemble ODARA.
